She accepted Christ at an early age.<br \/>\nViola was a beautician for 57 years. She attended beauty classes in Chicago, Cincinnati and New York. She was a graduated of Besteda Beauty College in 1945. She also received a certificate in hair weaving and wig making in Jul of 1964.<br \/>\nViola met and married her first husband, James S. Williams in July of 1943. They relocated to Akron, Ohio in 1953 where she started her own beauty salon, Powder Puff Beauty Salon. Viola was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and later People\u2019s Baptist Church. She taught Sunday Scholl and served on the Missionary Board.<br \/>\nViola married second husband, Luther Ray in January of 2007.<br \/>\nShe is preceded in death by parents, John and Fannie Marshall; husbands, James S.
