Mamie L. Hunt, wearing a golden crown and took her heavenly rest early in the morning on Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was born in Tchula, MS on July 11, 1923. She was born to Willie Clark and Eula Lena Adams. Her family moved to Akron, OH on January 13, 1951.
\nMamie Hunt was married to Earl Hunt and to this union six children were born. She was a devoted mother. They were married for 73 years until he was called home to the Lord on January 21, 2015.
\nMamie Hunt was a community conscious person and a faithful member of the First Apostolic Faith Church, \u201cThe Faith Place\u201d, since 1955 under the leadership of Bishop Francis L. Smith. She began attending as a member when the church was located on Bellows Street. She was a Sunday school teacher, received letter of recognition for being a faithful choir member for 53 years, devoted usher for 20 years, and President of the Service League Board. She was also a member and service leader for Love Inc., and a Lifetime member of the NAACP since 1975.
\nMamie Hunt could often be found beautifying and cleaning up her neighborhood. We don\u2019t want to forget.. Mamie Hunt loved her black coffee!
\nIt was not unusual witnessing her at home falling asleep in her chair with a Bible in her lap. She was a praying warrior and always thirsty for the word of God.
\nShe was a high school graduate receiving certification.
\nMamie Hunt was employed at St. Paul\u2019s Rectory for over 30 years.
\nMamie Hunt loved hats and was always eloquently dressed; her favorite colors were white and red. On Saturdays you could find her at Rolling Acres, Summit Mall, or her favorite stores The Hatterie and Ino\u2019s.
\nMamie Hunt was preceded in death by husband, Earl Hunt, son Earl Hunt Jr. and sisters Treather Payne, Eula Sargent , Arrie Emerson ,Rosie Miller and brother, Ivory Clark.
\nMamie Hunt leaves to honor her legacy and cherish her memory her children, three sons Walter Hunt, Thomas Hunt, Robert Hunt, two daughters, Linda (Lyn) Gilbert and Shirley Hunt, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and family and friends.<\/p>\n","Image":false,"funeral_location":"Sommerville Funeral Services","funeral_service_date":"January 7, 2022","viewing_time":"11:00 am","service_time":"12:00 pm","video_link":"
