James was born October 19, 1933 in Akron, OH to William and Margaret Turneur.<\/p>\n<p>He had a giving spirit and was a very generous and thoughtful man. He donated consistently to multiple charities over the years. He never met a stranger and left a positive impression on many people. He was a dedicated family man who was known for putting his family first. He loved his family deeply. James was an avid sports lover and a die-hard Cleveland Cavaliers, Browns, and Indians fan. He also enjoyed playing softball for many years. James loved old westerns and action movies.<\/p>\n<p>He worked several years for Brecksville VA hospital but went on to retire from B&amp;O Railroad after 20 plus years.<\/p>\n<p>James is preceded in death by wife Sherry Turneur; son, Michael Turneur; three sisters; three brothers; and best friend Walter Anderson.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by sister, Michelle (Michael) Sales; his children, James (Sharon) Foster, Marilyn Turneur, Myra (Tony) Moore, Mark (Evelyn) Turneur, and Monica Turneur; grandchildren, Tamika, Natalie, LaToya, Brandon, Andrea, Shanna, Walter, Kelli, Cordell, James, and LaMonica; Special niece and nephew Margaret and Jackie Lomax of New Jersey; special friends, Natalia Turneur and Berlene Anderson; neighbors, David (Linda) Clute and Alberta; as well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.<\/p>\n","Image":false,"funeral_location":"Sommerville Funeral Services","funeral_service_date":"July 30, 2020","viewing_time":"10:00 am","service_time":"12:00 pm"},"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/dev.sommervillefuneralservice.com\/dev\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/obituaries\/976","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/dev.sommervillefuneralservice.com\/dev\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/obituaries"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/dev.sommervillefuneralservice.com\/dev\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/obituaries"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dev.sommervillefuneralservice.com\/dev\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/977"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/dev.sommervillefuneralservice.com\/dev\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=976"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
